Known for their immersive art installations and innovative designs, Team Wang Design’s collaboration on the Under The Castle haunted house created an unforgettable experience that redefined creativity, realism, and event fabrication.
Laying the Foundation

The journey of building Under The Castle began with laying the groundwork at Waterworld, an area originally designed as a queue for the Waterworld show. The location presented challenges, such as an uneven surface and the extreme heat and humidity of Singapore. Despite these obstacles, the team persevered, leveling the ground to set the stage for the castle’s construction. This phase demonstrated professional event fabrication in challenging conditions.
Building the Walls and Structure

Once the foundation was laid, the team began constructing the castle’s walls and structure. A standout feature was the intricate brickwork, all hand-carved from foam to replicate real stone.

The castle’s entrance featured slanted walls and a striking water feature, mimicking a river flowing beneath a metal bridge. The design required careful planning and waterproofing to maintain both aesthetic value and structural integrity.

Fabrication of knight mannequin
Attention to detail extended to crafting all props from scratch, including medieval weapons and life-sized knight mannequins. The knight armors were handmade and tailored to the scare actors for both comfort and authenticity.

Every piece, from collapsed pillars to custom picture frames, was carefully designed to contribute to the castle's eerie ambiance.

Construct of throne platform, throne chair and throne protector
Adding to the immersive experience, the throne room featured a custom-built chair and character model that seamlessly fit into the haunting setting.
Adding Final Touches

The final phase of the project involved bringing the scene to life with props and finishing touches. Hundreds of pumpkins were smashed and treated to appear rotting, enhancing the unsettling environment.
